6 weeks in..

The newbie flock hit 6 weeks today. Aside from the legbar, I am suspiciously waiting for them ALL to be cockerels

I suspect that the Lavender Orp and the Welsummer are cockerels, but a few more weeks will make for certain. Otherwise I believe the rest to be pullets, at this time.

They all look like pullets. I'm pretty sure the wellsummer isn't a cockerel because it has female coloring.

That works for me. I don't know welsummers, so I speculated based upon that wattle development.

Photo 6 is a cockerel. There may be others, but I really need to see pics of the comb without flash. When it flashes, it distorts the coloring.

The Lav Orp is looking a liiiiittle suspicious, but other than that, all pullets for now.
The Welsummer is 100% a pullet, cockerels would have black chests and red patches at this age.

Updated for week 7
One big change? The lack of cooperation from the chicks. Week 7 must be the anarchy period. LOL!
