Hi- I have a six week old chick that was attacked by a cat five days ago. She had two puncture wounds on both sides of her neck. I cleaned them and treated with neosporin. I seperated her from the flock and put her in a box inside. One side is completely healed, the other side is scabby but appears to be healing. She seemed to be fine a couple of days after the incident and I took her outside for fresh air and to see the others. She walked straight over to them and was one of the gang. I took her back inside that night because I didn't want the other girls to peck at her overnight. The next day (about the third from the incident) she all of a sudden is limping and won't put weight on her right leg. I do not see any major wounds (although there is a little black as shown in the pictures). When she stands, the "injured" leg looks normal (flat). But it's now been a few days and there doesn't seem to be improvement. I don't know if the leg is broken (doesn't appear to be) or there's nerve damage. But if so, why was she able to walk normally the second? Is it possible it's psychological? All thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
