Interesting!! I've never even heard of corn cob jelly. Maybe I will try some when the corn harvest hits peak here.
Choke cherry jelly is what my Gram used to make. Am planning on going to visit my Aunt, who still lives in my Grams house, and harvest some from her backyard. I inherited all my Grams canning supplies (including a Presto pressure canner and probably a hundred jars ) when she passed away a month ago.
Now all my relatives expect me to step in her shoes and make the families "secret recipe" bread and butter pickles. Only problem is, no one has found the recipe...so maybe Gram wanted to make sure it stayed a secret.
I made strawberry Jam for the first time ever a few weeks ago. Even picked our own Maine Strawberries. It came out awesome!!
Waiting for the blueberries and raspberries (on our own property...BRAG...
) to get ripe and will make some jam and freeze some of those. And a good friend of mine has a blackberry patch I'll harvest from, too. That patch is meaner then heck, but the berries are sooo worth it,
My uncle is trying to get me to make mincemeat jelly.
