7 hawks tryed eating my chicks

i was out side cleaning there coop when my chicks were in there temp. pen next to the house playing i heard a loud caw like a big bird would sound like.
i looked up and saw a big hawk that was flying over my head and raceing towards my chicks pen and i was runing to stop the hawk and at the last second i screamed caw to scare it away and it worked

i got to my chicks pen and i looked up and there were propally 7 hawks cirling over the head of my chickens luckly i got there in time with no injurys

If it was cawing, it was probably a crow. There are very few hawks in this country that hunt together (with the exception being Harris Hawks).

What color were the birds? Where do you live?

Yikes. Well, it's possible! Caracaras are usually scavengers, but they do sometimes hunt -- and when they do hunt, they sometimes do it in pairs. I dunno about larger groups.
