7 month old cockerel, ok for BBQ?

I'm reading "stewing hens" are 8 months and up. Would a 7 month old cockerel be tender enough for BBQ or should I not chance it?

I'm not an expert, but he's probably a little old for a fryer and would do best with a moist cooking method.

Maybe....if you rest the cleaned carcass for 3-4 days before cooking.
But low and slow cooking would be much better.

If you try it, please let us know what you did and how it came out. Personally I would not try cooking him on the barbecue but maybe cook him by a slow method. maybe just simmer in water, then add sauce and finish on the grill.

If you use it, remember to convert from C to F.
The breast and thighs were tender but legs were a bit chewy.
