Thank you for your input! This is the first time we have ester eggers. I was concerned the pecking order may had messed with her developmentSome just take longer than others to mature. Apparently some can skip their pullet stage and skip straight to full sized eggs come next spring. That being said, I did have a prairie bluebell who still wasn’t laying at nearly a year old, well into spring with longer days but still no eggs. She was crazy and I ended up butchering her.
Yours looks plenty healthy, comb is red but not plump so maybe just a little longer?
If you ever see her squatting for you (or a rooster if you have one) then it’s just a waiting game. Some say a few days after squatting is observed but IME it’s more like a week or two.
Lol they sure are different!!! My seabright started laying at 12 weeks and is my best laying hen!Agreed. She looks perfectly healthy but not quite mature yet. My first year Easter Eggers didn't lay until 32 weeks old. They just mature at different rates, just like humans.
Lol that was literally meMy EE pullets aren’t laying yet either. I can’t recall exactly how old they are cause I’m too tired to math right now but I think about 6 months
