7 week-old Ameraucana Rooster - Issaquah, WA

Yikes, I am so disappointed to discover that one of my new baby hens is a roo! This is the first time in nearly 15 years of keeping chickens that this is happened! He made a little crowing sound this week, and I can feel a little numb on the leg shaft. So unfortunately I can not keep him. I am looking to rehome this little beauty.

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. I too live in Issaquah, and ended up with a rooster with my first purchase of 4 "hens". By the time we realized he was a roo, the girls were so attached to him, and so were we, we decided he had to stay. We were able to get an exemption from the city, but are dealing with one neighbor complaining of the noise, even though he wears a collar to drastically mute the crowing. I wish there were a way to change the ordinance like Colorado did to stop this discrimination against roosters. The neighborhood dogs, crows, and squirrels make more noise than our rooster.
