Please help... in the last few days we have lost about 30% of our 7 week olds... at first there were a few dead, in what I believe to be in part a temperature drop and inconsistent care while I was away :-( We moved, the remaining birds, cleaned everything thoroughly and We have been watching them vigilantly. First night I was up almost the whole night changing water, making sure they were not suffocating each other etc but still in the morning there was one bird, an ameracauna that was practically dead... and despite removing her and as siting her in feeding (she refused to eat or drink) she experienced some spasms and died around midday.
We then further separated the flock, into the more vigorous and the more quiet and they have been observed around the clock since. Around 10 this morning I noticed our lightest buff orpington was just sitting around and didn't react when I approached their brooding area to check on water etc.... I removed her and we have been trying to have her drink and eat. She will take small sips but her reflexes are weak and she isn't standing at all. I am hoping for some advice that may help us help her- she was happy and eating well yesterday. I am stumped. Thanks in advance!
