My SLW seems to be sick. She did not come out of the coop today and when I went in she was lying by herself. She is normally very active. She doesn't seem to be able to or want to stand. I have taken her into the house and offered water with ACV and food but she is not interested. Please tell me what you think I can do.

I just gave her some food and she is eating really well. Her right leg seems weak or damaged.

The leg is not paralyzed as when I pick her up and there is no weight on the foot/leg, she bends and extends it. I cannot see any obvious injury to the foot or toes but it seems to cause her pain when pressure is applied to the bottom of the foot toward the upper leg.

If no injuries are visible, she may have muscle strain(she may have been stepped on,fallen or twisted her leg). Try an epsom salt soak for 10-15 mins, great for sprains/sore muscles and swelling(don't let her drink epsom salt water, can cause dehydration). Keep her in the house, monitor for any changes. If she is eating/drinking fine, then you are doing all that you can, until other symptoms appear this is about it.

Thank you. I am a little afraid to do a soak since I don't want her to chill if this is more a systemic thing. I will keep her in the house for sure.

Seriously starting to wonder if this is Marek's. She cannot stand at all but doens't seem in pain. Just checked the rest of my birds and my Buff Orpington's eyes look really swollen.
