I was wondering the best way to make these little hens as tame as can be for my kids. I have only had them for about 4 days. They seem fine in the coop and eat from my hand when I give them treats, and are easy to get out,but when held they seem to squirm around a lot a then calm down after a few minutes. When in the yard they run from us and are hard to catch. Will this get better as they get older. Any suggestions? I just want they to be easy to handle for my kids.
Thanks Chris

Just keep feeding them treats. Mealworm are a favorite around here. They have them at tractor supply. It will take a little while. Most seramas tame easily however there are always exceptions. I don't know how old the kids are, make sure they are not holding them to tight. When you pick them up slide your middle finger between their legs and gently hold the legs with your pointer and ring finger. The birds breast should rest on your palm. Then place your other hand on the back. This with the bird feels supported. Good luck seramas are lots of fun
