This is a small flock and fertility has been awesome I have had reports of 100% hatch with shipped eggs as far as California. I have one Blue rooster over four hens, three of the hens are standard color the other is a blue. You could hatch a buff color from the blue hen but the chances would be limited with only one in the breeding flock. I have taken them to a couple of shows just to get our feet wet and see what it's all about, it was enjoyable. They did very well with my standard color winning Champion Contential and the blues winning Champion AOV at our first show ever. I think these would be as good a start as any for someone interested in Barnevelders. Thanks for looking......Chad
