I reallllly don’t want this little guy to be a rooster. So I did some googling, and apparently long wings and tail feathers are a sign of being a female? What do y’all think?

It’s fathered by a black Blanton silkie and mother hen is either a brown leghorn, or a blue Andalusian
You already know you all are awesome!!!

The tail and wing length don't mean anything in this cross, but the gene for dark skin does. A dark skinned Silkie male crossed with a light skinned female should create offspring where the female chicks have the dark skin just like the father. So I think you have a pullet. Someone with better knowledge of genetics can explain this better than me.

Oh your awesome! Thank you so much, I didn’t consider that the rule wouldn’t work in a cross😁

This rule works with certain breeds, as a rule. But it does work with most breeds as an anacdote. Which means, many times, slow feathering chicks, would be male. But you usually have to COMPARE between your chicks, and you only have one
