Hello! My 8 pet roosters-9 months old, who are the best pets I've ever owned, have been tragically condemned. The city, where I live, initially allowed roosters, but after so many requests, they said no to all. I have seven pure breeds and an eighth which may be a mix. They were hatched and hand raised in my kitchen. They are handled daily by me and others and were raised as pets. They get along well with people and are daily around my hens. I have 3 partridge cochins, 2 blue rocks, a black orpington, a mixed blue rock/cochin (he may be pure blue cochin-not sure) and a very rare, golden laced orpington. They get along well with each other, except for the occasional pecking order reminders. I actually prefer the roosters over the hens, since they are easy to care for and are less demanding.
If you need friendly, beautiful birds to enhance your flock and yard, these are the ones for you! They are very good around the hens and will protect them too. I will not be giving them away to be eaten! I have spent too much time and money on them to be slaughtered. They need a good home, I was planning on keeping them for life and am heart broken to have them go.
I can provide pictures as needed and will answer any questions. Thank you so much!
