8 week old with joint problem.

i have an 8 week old chick that had spradle leg when it hatched. i put a splint on it and in three days it was better. the same leg is now bending to the outside and he seems a bit unstable when i let him out. should i try to splint it agian or is this something different?

no one has any ideas? has anyone hobbled a chick this old?

Interesting, and I don't really know the answer!!!

I figure it couldn't hurt to try splinting again, even if it doesn't help. Sounds like it might be turning out at the thigh and the tendons and ligaments aren't holding it in proper place, but this is just my thoughts.

I'd try placing the leg in proper position, and you might have to put a bit of foam or something between the legs since it's older now.

I hope someone else sees this and knows better than I do!!

well i guess im just going to hobble it like it has spraddle leg and see how it dose.

hobbling didn't work. it seems to be above the hock the is the problem ill try to get some pics tonight after my camera charges. anyone have any sugestions?
