I just posted a pic of my only Production Red because it turned out really good for what I've been able to do. After posting it I noticed the comb and waddles are dramatically larger than on the other egg laying hens I got. I have a mixture of breeds and don't know if Production Reds develop the combs and waddles faster or if I have a roo in the mix. Your experience would be helpful. I have close neighbors and can't have anyone start crowing. So what do you think?

The first pic is the chicken in question. The rest are the other 'girls'. All are 8 weeks old.

I think it's a roo. I was just looking at pics of my cousin's Production Reds. Her pics of 3 month old pullets showed small combs and wattles, much smaller than what yours has.

Sure, Andi! Here is the pic I was looking at. She has a mixed flock, but they are all 3 months old. One of her Production Red pullets is in the foreground, then a BO, then another Production Red pullet. The roo is obvious. Yours doesn't have the comb and wattles he has, for sure, but give him a month.

Oh, yes! I see, Steffanie! That pic shows it really well. Thanks for showing it to me. I was just going to take yours, and Amy's word for it, but the pic definitely helps. Thanks again!
