We are revamping a coop that was used decades ago (literally). About 8-10 years ago, we dumped cedar shavings in the run, mainly for weed control. We didn't have any animals living in the run. I have heard that cedar shavings will hurt chickens (cause respirqtory issues)... what about shaving put down over 8 years ago? They are mostly degraded, and leaves cover the area now too. Thanks for any advice!

yah, I think after 8 years the cedar will have lost a lot of its punch... (probably after even a few years)
