Love it!!! If I had to build again , this is what I’d build!!!View attachment 1343849 View attachment 1343845 View attachment 1343847 View attachment 1343848 I finally got started on my woods style coop build. Got to work on it a couple evenings and a full say this past weekend. It is coming along nicely just need to weather to cooperate so i can get it finished. This ended up a LOT bigger than what I had pictured in my head...lol. I have been able to use a lot of used wood and reclaimed wood to help on cost. I need to hurry up because my 11 chicks are about to outgrow their current home.
thank you JT. I read that entire book before I built and used it for the basis of my build.
....no side roof overhangs!!In most every example I looked at and all the instructions I read in the book there was never a mention of an overhang...so there is no overhang...seems like another place for me to have to seal up from drafts and critters.Cool, but........no side roof overhangs!!
Sorry, pet peeve.
Nope, not in those plans... doesn't mean it's not a good idea.In most every example I looked at and all the instructions I read in the book there was never a mention of an overhang...so there is no overhang...seems like another place for me to have to seal up from drafts and critters.
No problem at all, thats why I love most forums, a vast variety of opinions and ideas, that's what makes us all different. I may regret not having them but we will see how it goes. Thanks for your reply and opinion, I am a complete newbie at this so I am enjoying learning from all the articles and experts on here.Nope, not in those plans... doesn't mean it's not a good idea.
Protects open windows in summer, as well as the siding....
.....and for non-Woods an excellent place to ventilate with eaves left open.
Just pet peeve, sorry.
