9 eggs out of 8 girls??????

I have 8 RIR that are beginning to lay really well. Yesterday 8 eggs...Today 9 eggs. One of soft shell and broken but other 8 are perfect. Can anyone understand that math?

Upon occasion a hen will lay 2 eggs in a day. When she does so one is frequently imperfect, and she generally skips the next day.

Just a glitch that can happen with new layers. One hen laid the soft and hard egg. She should get it right soon. As long as that is not happening daily, everything is ok.
