Meet Jefferson. The most vocal chick in the flock when it comes to conversation, constantly having something to say while he/she moves around ever so gracefully.

Also the most confusing chick because I can't for the life of me figure out if it's a cockerel or a pullet. Until a week ago I was 99% sure it was a cockerel but now I see feathers which resemble a hens...no? From 99% sure it's a cockerel to 80% sure it's a pullet...I need help. Is it Jefferson or Jessica? And what breed is this? I mean it's a mix of some sort but of what? I've attached a picture of who I believe is the mother hen at the bottom of this post.

Cross-breed cockerel.
Stunning boy.
Thanks, but could you help me understand what you're looking at to conclude it's a boy?

He's beautiful. What cockerels do you have?
I'd definitely say that hen is the mother.
I don't, (sorry I mean I do but they are all chicks. First time keeping chickens). That mother hen pic is from where the chick came. That guy had a longhorn and a light sussex roo from what I recall.

yeh the comb and wattle are both very prominent compared to the other 10 chicks I have. But mummy isn't shy about her comb either and the feathers around the saddle area are more rounded no?
