I have some chicks that started hatching on march 12 and all finished hatching within that week. I've been leaning towards cockerel for these 4, but would appreciate some other peoples input.

The dark/barred ones are cuckoo marans hen + rhode island red rooster mix (chicks 2-4)

The other is a welsummer hen + rhode island red rooster (chick 1)

I tried to get 2 pictures of each containing the comb/wattles+neck and their butt/tail. I can provide more pictures if needed.

The cuckoo marans cross: barred hen with not barred rooster creats a sex link: barred cockerels and solid pullets.

The cockerels are single barred, so look like mom with rooster combs/wattles.

A barred (purebred, so double barred) rooster crossed with a solid hen will result in ALL babies single barred.

That's what I was thinking with marans cross. Just wasn't sure if I understood what I was reading about the sex links. Thanks for confirming!
