So Our ducks just turned 9 weeks old. Doing great. They are still shy and don't like us trying to pick them up. Lol Is it still too early to determine drake from hen?

Yes. But you often have to “chase” to get them to really quack. My current babies (6 week mixed breeds) are both very quiet when calm. But if I herd them outside the girl quacks loudly.Would it be a pronounced quack? All 3 are pretty quiet.
Well, that is interesting. I have a few Rouen ducks and I thought algae was growing on their bills due to the green of their bills but now I know. Always learning on here.I hope I am wrong, but their bill color concerns me (not a 100% accurate sign). Drakes tend to have olive bills while hens have black/brown bills.![]()
I’m only hearing drake sounds in this video! I agree with the bill comment, too. This is what I get out of them. I'm thinking I hear a small quack but not sure. Lol
Pick them up individually / separate them one by one from the group. They’ll make a whole lotta noise thenFollowing...I have 9 ducks (9 weeks old) and they will all quack, grunt, make farting noises, honk, cackle loudly and when I ask "who did that?" They all stare at me in silence. I have no idea who is who as far as girl or boy. It is a cruel game they play with me.
