My flock of call ducks were attacked Friday morning by a weesel. All were killed but my male is hanging in. Bad neck wounds. Been cleaning daily, applied vetericyn. I'm worried about infection. He only eats when I turn his food to soup. Been giving electrolytes, he won't bend over, I know he is sore and still tramatized..... Advice please

Very sorry for your losses - could you post a few pictures of the bird wounds? For better visualization of the wound, you can establish a circumferential featherless zone via trimming, or plucking the feathers.

If he isn't already, can you bring him inside somewhere warm?

Most bite wounds will be dealt with using antibiotics. The jugular veins around the neck can act at transferring bacteria to the other parts of the body resulting in septicemia. I suggest ordering Enrofloxacin and starting the bird on 0.05ml twice a day for five days, orally with a syringe once you receive the medication.

Dehydration, and anorexia can be a common problem with injured birds, to maintain the bird hydration, and nutritional status consider collecting tube feeding supplies in case maintenance fluids are not being met.
