So my Guinea's moved out of our Chicken house about 2 weeks ago. They still come and go to the yard however won't stay or go to the house. It turns out we had a pair nesting in a neighbour's field. So they have hatched and were out on the road. We grabbed as many as we could see. Three dead so far. I put them in my puppy incubator at about 97F. I went down the road to see if there was anymore, Mom was frantic calling them, I hoped that I could get her to come home. So now they are in the incubator on the sundeck, they are so loud I could hear them way down at our gate. So if she comes maybe she will hear them? I have a box and a heat lamp to put into the chicken house..... So my qeustion is what temp for the incubator. They are very active though we have 2 that are acting cold. The rest are up on the towel looking out and calling mom. I have some water, about 1/4 inch.

They need to be in a brooder not an incubator.

Guinea keets can be started between 90° and 95°F. The temperature needs to be measured at the bedding level. Measuring the air temperature will cause the brooder to be hot enough to kill the keets. The brooder needs to be big enough that it can have both warm and cool areas. The water and feed should be out from under the heat source.

It is best to place marbles or pebbles in the water so the keets cannot drown in the water.

I only have about 1/8 of a inch in the water. If the parents don't come I will get some pebbles in deeper water. I am hoping, she will come. They are very active looking out the glass and peeping. I do have a parrots cage and can move them into that if I have to do the raising. I put the keets(parents which were a month old) into the Parrot cage and we attached the heat lamp. We have an indoor Siamese and a few Bulldogs so will need to keep them safe.

Okay now I see I have a mutilated baby. He has had head pecked close to his eye. Do I stick him in a box within the incubator and try to get him healthy? Or is this a lost cause? Or are they too confinded and I should put them into the parrot's cage and use heat lamp? Any thoughts????????? what is safe to put on injury? Iodine, peroxide?

Blu-Kote is safe.

I do not know what size your parrot cage is but keets should have plenty of room. They can be vicious to each other and it can get a lot worse once they are adults.

I know as adults they can however I guess it has to start somewhere. Okay I will move them. Thank you.

Okay they were in the incubator when this happen. I have moved them to the parrot cage which is 36" by 25", just trying to find the right height for the heat lamp.
