Hi
My name is Roni, and I am a chick-o-holic:D!

It all started about 6 months ago when, due to the economy, both my DH and I had lost our jobs. I had always wanted to get some chickens, but never really had the time to invest. So, instead of searching for a non-exsistant job, I decided to go back to school and enjoy a little time off of work.

That left me with PLENTY of extra time for all the wonderful hobbies I have always wanted to do, but never had the time.

I have the BEST garden on the block and my DH built me a GREAT coupe for all our little babies!

I see how quickly these little guys can suck you in! I had only wanted 8-10 to start with and DH wanted 12. WEEELLLLLL......19 chickens later:jumpy I'm offically hooked!

I have:

3 Americanas
4 RIR
3 Silver Laced Wynedottes
2 Buff Orps
2 Silkies
1 White crested black polish bantom (DH's bird!!)
and 4 that are all mixed up, not really sure what kinds they are but 2 are gray, 1 is brown and one black with different color spots on it.

DH tells me I don't HAVE to buy new chickens every week!

I have not posted on here before but I have been reading a lot of posts here on BYC and I want to thank you all for the wealth of information you provided me.

I do have some pics, but not on the computer yet. As soon as I get them on here I'll post.

Again a big THANKS to all of you. I look forward to pecking your brains in the future

From another NC chicken lover. You have some of my favorite breeds. Welcome to byc and these people will not talk you out of buying new chickens every week, building a bigger coop or incubating.

Addictive group.

Hi, fellow Tarheel. I'm in Forsyth County.
I'm a recent addition myself and the others are correct, this is a habit forming, addictive site. So many trendsetters all on one site is how I see it. I'm also an avid weed puller and think that a perfect day is a trip to the Farmer's Market in Gsbo hauling back my newly found stash. Coworkers know I take plant dig-ups and grow my own spinach. I think the two go hand-in-hand or rather beak in bill. I'd warn you about the ducks but they are too darned cute and also give tasty eggs. Welcome to you and your brood (you will be growing).
