I am buying a house that has 2 cats in it,
I have 26 rir chicks about a week old,
Can cats and chicks/chickens get along in the same space?

Most cats get along well and some are even protective of adult chickens. However, I would keep them separated as long as the chicks are little...they look wayyyyy too tempting at that point. I have stray cats that always hang out with my chickens and the only problem ever was when my rooster was alive and HE attacked one of the cats.

Edit to add, once the chickens are bigger and CAN be with the cats, they are a wonderful way to make sure rats and mice stay out of your feed.

I've got 24 chickens and 2 outdoor cats and 1 dog. They can co-exist. BUT not with chicks. My dog and my cats would munch down the chicks like a handful of nuggets.
