So a while ago I asked if I put shop bought free range eggs in my snake tank would they hatch? It's now nearly hatch time for the quail eggs, today I stopped turning them. I've been candling a couple of the eggs every now and then but I haven't really noticed much. Today I decided to candle them one last time. 9/11 of the quail eggs looked normal: lit up a bit, I could see the yolk, I'm guessing these are unfertile eggs. 1 of the eggs was fully dark, It barely lit up at all, is this one going to hatch? Finally the last egg, this one was quite dark, it had a very large, dark yolk but still lit up quite a bit, do you think this one will hatch? They are due to hatch on Saturday (I know its possible none will hatch so I'm not getting my hopes up)

Sorry I do not have an answer, but I am inquisitive on the conditions of the snake tank, as I have a lizard tank. It has an overhead heating lamp and a coco-coir based substrate. Is this anything like yours?

EDIT: This is because I’m wondering if I can hatch eggs in my lizard tank.

Hi, my snake tank has a heat mat which is usually about 25 - 30°C, the eggs are in a plastic tub on the heat mat.

Your eggs won't hatch. 30C is not warm enough to incubate eggs.
