How’s everyone doing?
I might be ahead of myself because I haven’t even got my chicks yet, and it’s not going to be Halloween anytime soon. But I guess I like to plan things ahead and receive a few suggestions!
So basically I live in the suburbs, but I have a big yard with a lot of room for the coop and run. However, the spot we chose to build the coop is near the road. Sort of near the road. It’s the best spot though, with shrubs and trees for shade and a lot of sunny places for the winter. So we’re not going to change that. Anyways, at Halloween, there are plenty of kids on that road, trick or treating.
The kids every Halloween that go through that road are super rowdy! They egg other people’s houses, steal candy, and tromp across yards, some even throw rocks at the window...
I’m wondering what your suggestions are for preventing little kids from going into my yard and maybe hurting the chickens?? I mean, if I was one of them I would be interested in another person’s chickens too. I’m going to be the only person in the neighborhood to own chickens, but I don’t want little kids to throw stuff at them!!
Maybe I should make or buy a dog now that says “KEEP OUT OF CHICKEN AREA!” Or “CHICKEN CROSSING”????
This might be a weird question... just want some suggestions...
