that way my chickens will have greens even when they turn their run into a sess Pitt

I liked your idea of hanging plants.

Nasturtiums in pots, and dangling into the fence.

That way we could start the pots indoors, and when it is warm enough to no longer kill growing things, we could put the pots on top of the run, or hanging on the side of the run.

Also, look up "growing fodder for chickens". You might find that fun.

I had nasturtiums growing in my chicken run last year, and they left them alone. However, they did munch on the soil in the planter. I'd vote for some planters with hardware cloth or chicken wire over the top. You could plant any kind of greens, grass or grains, and the chickens could munch it down to the wire without disturbing the soil and roots. If you deeply mulch your run, it won't turn into a cess pit.

the problem with my chickens is that they always eat everything green and they could bend the chicken wire to get to the roots do any of you know how to avoid that with min labor

i would be muchly obliged

i will see if i can dig up any good board pieces out of my junk pile thank you, you may now return to what you do best
