A coon killed are chickens last night

Went to feed are chickens this morning and discovered they were dead A coon got them and killed 21 of are 27 chickens, so upset right now, took me a few seconds to realize what had happened but they werent moving and i noticed some feathers everywhere and some blood, this is so aggrevating.

Go to tractor supply and get a solor electric fence. They are easy to set up and will deter raccoons Good luck!

I'm so sorry. This happened to me last winter, lost all my flock except one or two. I literally had to start over. IT's very frustrating.

For now we had them all in a huge cage with a door and locked up at night time and we would cover the cage up real good til morning, because my husband isnt done with their coop, he should have it done tonight or tommorrow, but we had their big cage by our house and thought we had it safe and covered for the night, but i guess not. Only have 6 left so if their coop isnt finished tonight, guess ill have to bring the other 6 inside in a different cage tonight.

Get you a cage trap and take out your aggressions on the one you catch.

Oh my husband is pretty mad, hes going to be waiting for the coon tonight all ready for him. Every time i think about it i get mad all over again, 21 chickens, gone, just like that

Well, my husband set a live trap last night, and checked it this morning and he did catch the coon but the thing is the coon apparently rolled the trap and somehow made the doors open up and he got loose.

Guess were going to keep trying til its caught. Plus he brought home 13 more chickens yesterday, even bigger than the ones that were killed, so we re-gained some of the loss at least.
