My "big girls" (no idea on ages) have been in the coop for a few days, today they were loosed in the run. I also took my "middles" out and put them in the dog kennel.. you may can see it in the bend of the run by the coop.

My run. It is "L" shaped, the coop is in the bend of the "L" and the long leg of the "L" goes on off the left of the pic. Lots of construction debris still... and I still have to do windows, permanent roosts and nestboxes on the house.

I call this girl "Stink".... she seems to have a natural stink eye, but is actual very friendly. She is also very curious (nosey)

Thanks! I looked at my calendar today and I got the BR, GC and Brahmas on April 9.... EEs and RIRs on April 16. The BR and Brahmas were a little bigger when I got them, the GCs were tiny.

Jasmine1998 that dark brahma looks just like mine did!! Poor Agnes... she is not the brightest bulb in the box lol

thechickengoesRAWR - thank! my dad helped me with part of it (he is 76) and then I did the last leg of the "L" and all of the hardware cloth by myself. There are wild strawberries growing on one edge, and I planted sunflowers down another. The way the pecan tree covers it, there is full shade on one "leg" in the morning and then on the other in the afternoon.

Is there an easy way to teach them to go into the house and roost at night? As it is, I have put a washtub full of litter in there and I have to carry them in each evening. Before I had the tub, they would huddle in a corner on the floor (it was 74 last night, so it wasn't cold).
