I was told we lost half of my girls (went missing). Now we only have eight hens and our wyandotte rooster. What can I do to cope? I want to get more, maybe Brahmas and/or Jersey Giants (never had any before), more Leghorns, Easter Eggers, and Wyandottes (I want to get the breeds that we lost). Does anyone have any breed suggestions for if/ when my family allows me to get more hens?

Dang, sorry to hear about that. How did y'all lose them?

Before you get more, make sure their coop and run is predator proof and safe.

Also, your rooster, Baby is one good looking bird. Cherish and Love Baby! And, whatever you do, DO NOT PUT BABY IN A CORNER, NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER!

She was wrong, we only lost 6 (we had 14 hens and 1 rooster), update we now are down to 4 hens. At least one of our neighbors saw a coyote.
