@Brahma Chicken5000 this was a tough decision. I never wanted a rooster. Roopecca was my favorite "pullet". I had reluctantly traded his brother for pullets, reluctant because he was quite stunning. Pecca's gender reveal was so emotional. (Imagine, I'm emotional over discovering my chicken is male! What's become of me?) I've decided I can't part with him. My breeder gave me a free pullet because he never made a gender mistake twice in one flock. However if I am unable to tame him my breeder will buy him back. Pecca would have to get really nasty for me to do that.

@Soon2BChixMom yes. I wanted 4 pullets, no roosters. That was November. I now have 6 pullets, and 1 cockerel.
I learned my chicken math quickly, didn't I!?

My granddaughter helped my hubby put the big girls (and Mr. Pecca Roo) to bed last night. She took this pic once they were settled. As I've said before, Roopecca (name changes as needed) never roosts, always sits on the floor. He has pigeon toes and poor balance. Has since a wee one.

Hmmmm...looking at my SLW at this angle....do those hackles look cockerel? I enlarged to look closer. Any thoughts? She and the EE are supposed to be pullets.
