A Few Questions

My hens had a bad case of ringworms. As per the vet, I treated them with Panacur. Ten days later I gave them a second dose. All their stool is firm and round and looks good. I just noticed that my Striped Plymouth has a little poop stuck to her feathers. It’s so cold out I just cleaned it with my fingers. Otherwise she looks great. Is it normal for a little poop to get stuck on their feathers or is it supposed to be perfectly clean? Also, once I finished deworming my Easter Egger went into a molt. She is losing tons of feathers but has no bald spots except the top of her beak. Is she OK. My second question isn’t about health. I just bought a heated waterer with the nipples but I am nervous about taking away the other heated waterer. It’s such a pain to change the water. How will I know when I can remove the old one?

Can you post photos of the Panacur, the poopy bottom and the EE with bald spot on her beak?
Hi @Stephen1152 Do you mean roundworms? Just curious, what dosage of Panacur did your vet prescribe?

As for your Striped (do you mean Barred) Rock, a little bit of poop stuck in the fluff may be normal. I have one that is extremely fluffy and she sometimes just doesn't shoot the poop far enough to clear. In warm weather, I usually will clean her up and trim excess fluff. Since it's winter - just keep an eye on it - I would not try to wash it out, but if it's really bad, you can try to gently cut away large clumps (be careful not to pull, since their skin will tear easily).

It's not unusual for birds to be molting this time of year. Most birds experience an adult molt at the age of 16-18months, so if your EE is somewhere in that age range, it's probably just her time. I'm not sure what to think about a bald spot on the top of her beak - a photo will hopefully clarify that

As for the water question...I'm not very good with that - you may get better suggestions on the feeding/watering forums, so you may want to post about your water situation there as well. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/feeding-watering-your-flock.12/
To me, chickens don't like a lot of change, especially when they are stressed. Having worms, molting and experiencing cold weather are all stressors in my book. You may want to introduce the new watering system, but I definitely would not get rid of the old one at this time until they are using the new one.
