I'm considering getting Silkie Chickens or maybe ducks, I'm not sure yet which I would rather have. still weighing the pros and cons of both. but I'm pretty sure I want to make an A frame coop. If I decide to go with chickens I've read that the silkies don't really roost because they don't like to fly. so I know my nest boxes will be inside of my coop so to maximize space I was thinking of making 2 nest boxes and then on top of that putting one roost. I could add a ramp up to it. under the roost(on top of the nest boxes) I could add a poop board which could be removed for cleaning. does this make sense? would it be a good idea? maybe other people have done it, I'm not sure. I haven't seen it anywhere I've looked so I apologize if I should dumb. lol. if you know of any coops like this I would love to see the pictures.
