i'm in the other camp. i've done what i can to snake proof my coop so hoping that works. i have quite a few rat snakes around my place. they have done a very good job in the last 15 yrs i've lived here keeping the venomous snakes away. my place is a nice habitat for copperheads, water moccasin, & coral snakes - possibly rattlesnakes as it gets drier here - they're reported near here. i've had none of these (that i've seen) but i do have rat snakes. so they're pretty welcome.

I'll start sending them south to you. The rule here is if they climb in my nest they leave without a head.
