A Hawk just killed my pet chicken :(

This just breaks my heart as I was home and heard the commotion, I was late in checking into the commotion as I thought it was just the chickens playing....but it was a hawk! The hawk didn't get a chance to eat the little girl but the **** thing killed her before I was able to scare him away.

It's very sad and devastating as are all predator attacks. I'm not quite the same for a few days after a slaughter.

We can keep them confined and safe but they love to free range.

The hawks were here before us and our chickens so basically we're the invasives.
I much more resent the dog and raccoon attacks.

If a dog attacked my girls, that would be one dead dog

It's a race between dogs and raccoons that kill most of my chickens.
I do keep a loaded shotgun for dogs on the back porch.
