it seems that saddle feathers are crucial in the sexing of chickens.
could some kind person or persons post a few good close-ups of the differences in saddle feathers between cocks and hens? i just need to look at an example or two so that i know what everyone is talkin' about.
thanks in advance!

I don't have pics but long saddle feathers are only on roosters or cockerals...they hang over the backsides towards the tails....Go to Feathersite.com and look up any breeds and it will show you pics of roosters and hens ...you can tell....Even on here in the What Gender or Breed is this you should find pics to show you the difference.......

I don't know how good you'll be able to see. They are the longer feathers hanging down right in front of his tail on his side.

See the white fuzz just at the base of Oreo's tail..they are the feathers draping down just before that.

Rumpless araucana have them hanging directly off the rump..
