(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I have had chickens for years.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Unfortunately we lost 6 in the summer to raccoons, so I have 6 left. We also have Turkey, Guinea fowl, pea fowl, goats, and cows.
(3) What breeds do you have? I have Jersey Giants, Lavender Orpington, and Americana chickens
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? What’s not to love? They provide you with good nutrition, they are fun, friendly, and down right entertaining! I love looking into the front yard watching them scratch and explore
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? In our spare time lol we show and breed Mastiffs.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 6 children that range from 35 to 12. Only 2 left at home…our youngest is involved with our local 4-H community. My next oldest just graduated college with a degree in Animal Sciences beef and swine specializations and she also has her insemination certification.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I googled a question about my peachicks and perused a bit like 15 minutes
and had to join this really awesome community!!!
