A little depressed, but mostly nervous.

So, on May 13 I set 20 eggs in my still air incubator. I culled 3 on day 10 due to blood rings. On day 16, I culled another 11; all of which turned out to be early quitters. This leaves me 6 eggs entering into lock down in the next 12 hours. I've begun upping my humidity as I'm not quite sure how much I need to adjust to make this work. Once I get humidity up to around 65-70%, I enter the "waiting game zone".

I'm bummed I've already lost 14 eggs out of 20 and am so nervous that something is going to happen in the next few days to make me lose the remaining 6. How do you all handle the anxiety of waiting for the first pip and hatch?

Yeah, I set 'em and forget 'em too. I don't usually even bother to candle either as the eggs are usually peeping by the time I remember to put them in the hatcher.

Are these shipped eggs? That could explain why so many have been quitters.

I put the incubator in the basement and forget it till hatch day.

Mine is in the basement, but the way my house is set up I can still glimpse it from my entryway. (Darn split level houses!
