A Michigan Bird Lover

What a great intro and cool book! It sounds like you already have a lot of prep under your belt, and your future flock will be very well cared for! Personally, I had to endure a crash course in chicken-keeping last fall when one showed up in my yard, otherwise I'm sure it would have been a 10-year journey for me as well. We are in northern Michigan and saw our first grosbeak arrive a few days ago. Watching for the hummers next!

Hi Kim! Thank you for sharing the wonderful introduction! It's so nice to meet you! Good luck picking your birds, there are SO many who do well in cold weather. Big fluffy ones like Orpingtons and Wyandottes, breeds with small combs like most Easter Eggers and Whitings, and many more. Search through the breeds section here and you can get lots of info on them. And do let us know which ones you decide to get! 😀
