Hello, fellow poultry folks!
I have been around chickens all my life, as mom kept laying hens, plus ordered for freezer meat every year in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where I grew up.
Having lived here in Arizona for 10 years gives me a different scene when it comes to outdoors. For the last five years, we have raised laying hens, meat birds and turkeys. I look forward to new chicks every year, whether they come from the hatchery, or a few of my hens decide to be broody and give me a few new babies.
We have dealt with cold, wet, overheated and plain sick chicks, dealt with bobcats, coyotes, hawks and escaped chickens.
I look forward to sharing information, learning new things, and being part of the group.
Thanks!
Deb
