Good morning everyone.
I've been reading others posts for weeks gaining much needed advice so decided to join to say thank you to everyone.. So thank you.
Chicken keeping has always been an ambition for me. Im now finally in a position to do it, I'm already addicted and totally in love with my chicks.
I have successfully hatched 11 large fowl and 7 silkies, all of which are 4 weeks old. I have 14 indian runners in the incubator at the mo which will hopefully make my flock complete.
My big success so far (thanks to your posts) is that when hatching, one of the silkies fully unzipped but couldn't break through the membrane. I managed to cut the membrane with a piece of the shell and let him hatch on his own...my heart was in my mouth!
I'm looking forward to gaining enough experience to be able to contribute to others on here.
Thanks again. X
