Hello All❤️
I am new to this site I have been doing alot of research on ducks since I'm new to having them and it always brings me to this site so I figured I would join because I feel we all have something g to bring to the table to help each other out. I recently bought 17 ducks (not all at once) it kinda became an addiction until I realized... Man they are alot of work!! But they all won my heart over and I am told I spend more time with my ducks then anyone else. Anyway, I now have my own issues and could use some advise.. a couple weeks ago I decided to buy another pekin because the two I have are males ( Patrick& Vinny) so I went to family home and farm they had pekins they were selling for 1.00 since they were 2.5weeks old. I bought the loudest one hoping for a girl and named her Natilie (she's now quaking so confirmed girl) but I found out she is disabled when I brought her home her legs are shorter and she is pigeon toed. I put niacin in her water for a while to see if it would get corrected and it didn't so I made her an inside duck (my husband hates it) I ordered her a duck diapers harness on line to control the poops but this girl is feisty !! I have had her for two weeks and she still won't come to me she quakes when I pick her up (she's mad) and she will bit at me in the morning when I go in her room. And sing to her and let her out. I always bring my male runner Valen out to play with her and she's a little better when he is around but I need advise on how to tame this feisty female...how do I get her to come to me? To just love me??

I don't know much about ducks but from what I read on here, they are generally not fond of being held or cuddled - like some chickens do. That farmer was not very nice to let you buy her without explaining all her "shortcomings," - he certainly knew what she was like.

I bought her from family home&farm store. Neither the clerk or myself noticed her short comings. She was in a trough with about 10 others.
