My cochin chick "Uno" started trying to crow at two weeks. Every morning at the crack of dawn his little squeaky voice fills the house.

He's now three and half weeks old, and I finally got a video. Hope you like it.
Uno crowing

I apologize for the terrible quality; we have a cheap digital camera that can take short vids.

Thanks, he is a cutie.

Does anyone else have any early crowers? I also have a couple of 16 week olds. One hasn't crowed at all and the other only once. I wonder if it means that this little boy will be full of testosterone and aggression?

the girls won't do this too will they? Now I've got something to look for in my babies. I'm gonna rehome the boys as soon as I know for sure. thanks!

No, it's just the boys that do that. However, of the ones I've seen, it's super rare for a boy to crow this early on.

Of course with chickens, you never say never. Some full-grown hens will begin to crow if there are no roosters or if they suffer some kind of damage to an ovary.

He is a bantam Cochin (black-and-white mottled). He is going to be a handful!

Oh.. that is ADORABLE!. He puts his whole body into that squeak!! So young, too!
