We're in the process of building our 24x50 run that will be attached to our coop. We have chicken wire (6ft in height and the thicker gauged stuff), deer netting that will go over the top and 47" field fencing that wraps around the outside. The bottom part of the fence will be buried around 6" in to the ground. We are also hotwiring the outside of the coop at around 6" high to prevent any small animal disturbance hopefully. The run is within my fenced yard where we have our dogs, horses and goats roaming around a good portion of the time.

Do you think this will be enough? The only issues we really have out here are racoons, opossums, occasional fox and a rogue bobcat.

Sounds perfect to me! Just make sure you run the chicken wire all the way around if you have weasels... they can get through the smallest holes(smaller than you think!) and kill chickens just for the fun of it.

I have a wire bottom in my run, but didn't bury anything except that wire, with a couple inches of sand. I'm not sure how deep you need to go to keep critters out of the bottom so I didn't take chances.
