I’m putting my egg in my incubator for the first time, should I add warm water to it so it can stay humid or do I have to wait.

Ohhhh thank you! One more question, how can I calculate how much percent of water I’m putting in it, I don’t want the humidity too high or too lowPrior to setting eggs the incubator should be stabilized as to humidity and temperature.
You can order a thermometer, and hygrometer combination online. I prefer the ones that are small, and battery operated, but you can find a variety including ones that are plug in, online from walmart, Amazon, or even try your local feed store. Place it in your incubator next to your eggs. The ideal humidity for hatching chicken eggs for the first 18 days is around 40-50 % on the last three days it should be around 65 % in my experience. I've found that using an eye dropper, and 6-7 drops of water at a time helps me carefully regulate my humidity, but it depends on the type of incubator you have. For the most part it's all about finding a way to monitor it.Ohhhh thank you!
