A Rat Stole My Fake Egg

low and behold this morning I found myself doing yet 'another' chicken coupe renovation... sigh ... checked my golf balls 4. Go out front finished my project took about 45 minutes go back into the hen hosue 3 golf balls

I am a little frustraited right now, I took the time to write a gigantic U on each one in each nest facing up so just in case one of my hens is at least moving it around I would know. Now I find out we have RATS and not only may it be taking my eggs but it freaking took a golf ball

Maybe the rat could get his last golf ball out of the sand trap...

Sounds like you have pack rats. Those things will steal anything and take it back to their nest to hide it. I have found bars of soap, plenty of shiney things like buttons or tops from cans and even spark plug wires from my tractors in their nests.
