Hello all (Again)

Just reintroducing myself on the forum after years (5 to be exact) of inactivity. I joined when I was in high school and my love of chickens and all thing chicken related was realised, took a break when I went to varsity as I had to rehome my chooks. Now I'm back and so happy to be here. Just to let you guys know a bit about myself:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've always grown around chickens for most of my life. I got my own bantam trio when I was 13 years old and I've been hooked ever since... Minus the few years when I was a varsity kid.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 17 chickens right now.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Lohmann Browns and Black Australorps... I have some Orpington eggs on the way

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Chickens are all super interesting, they are beautiful, personable and endearing. They have the ability of turning a house into a home and making a boring yard come alive. They also give the best protein food.... Eggs

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Watching series, gin tasting, food, environmental issues and social media

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a very large family, very big. Enough about them... Let's talk about my chickens. I am in South Africa

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found and joined BYC when I was 13/15 and looking for a community that felt what I felt about chickens. The excitement when seeing eggs, chicks, a beautiful adult chicken and all the cool stuff associated with keeping them.

Welcome back to BYC
