I went to my local feed store and asked for food grade DE for my chicken coop and this is what they gave me. After looking at the bag, I'm wondering if this is the right stuff.
Can you tell i'm new at this!

It's Diatomaceous Earth. We put it in the feed at a rate of no more than 2% total weight, some swear it worms the birds, but at the very least, it sure keeps bugs out of the feed. It keeps bugs and smells down in the pens and under the roost, in the nests, etc. I dust my birds with it under the wings and around the vent area, but it MUST say FOOD GRADE or you cant use it that way around the chickens.

Check out the Food Grade DE page that I'm putting together.

I've listed many of the ways that I use it around our place plus several of the links posted under the section titled "Where Can I Buy Food Grade DE" have listed just how it can be used and dosage amounts.
