A runt or sickly

We have a 5 week old Australorp who is half the size of its sibling. Tiny Tim we call him for now. He eats, drinks, and runs around sometimes. Mostly he is off to himself and kind of seems listless. He does not seem to be picked on. Our chickens have a lot of room, shade, water and even some bricks in cold water to stand on. His breathing is fast and seems heavy. Mouth only partially open. Any advice or possible diagnosis? Thanks!

Just in case of coccidiosis I would start some Corid from your feed store in the water. Dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid or 1.5 tsp of the powder per gallon of water for 5-7 days. It is safe for all of the chickens. In addition give him a couple of drops of undiluted Corid orally once a day as a drench. He may have some internal issue or just be a weak chick. Bring him aside and feed some mushy wet feed and cooked egg daily.
